A creamy and comforting drink to enjoy all day, all year.
The chai spice mix makes a perfect gift for birthdays or holidays. Put it in a pretty jar, make a cute label and give to a loved one.
To make this chai from my book "With a Pinch of Yoga" for yourself or someone you love, you need to make the chai spice mix first.
⅓ cup cinnamon chips (you can use about 5 cinnamon sticks instead)
¼ cup cardamom pods
¼ cup anise seeds
¼ cup coriander seeds
2 tbs black peppercorns
1 ½ tbs whole cloves
1 tbs fennel seeds
Combine all spices in a jar.
To make the chai, bring
2 cups water
to a boil. Put
1 tbs chai spice mix
1 – 3 cm fresh ginger
in a tea sieve. Put the sieve in the boiling water.
Lower the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Towards the end of the 10 minutes, add
½ cup homemade nut milk (strained almond or hazelnut works really well)
and let simmer until nut milk is warm.
Remove the sieve (careful, it will be hot). Pour chai in a mug.
Irina emits a healing energy that just feels good to be with. Each time we've met, I've relaxed into her presence, openness, authenticity and ability to offer support. She has helped me gain the perspective I needed to be more compassionate and gentle with myself. If you're ready to do the hard work of personal growth, I'd highly recommend partnering with Irina.
For me, it was a very magical experience to see how Irina could feel where my body's energy was 'stuck' and how she could guide me through unblocking it. In the end, I just felt the energy flowing through my body in a part where I don't think I ever felt it flowing like that before, or at least not for the last years that I can remember. I literally felt like my body was saying, "hello, there you are!".
I went into our first session feeling disconnected from my femininity, having had a long history of feeling stressed and anxious and not caring for myself enough. After putting Irina's advice into practice between sessions, I feel so much more connected to myself, aware of my cycle, and much more of a woman than ever.
